Agia Pelagia

Agia Pelagia is a small but well organized coastal town suitable for relaxing holidays, with crystal clear beaches protected from the wave-creating north winds, located 25 kilometers west of Heraklion. Amfitheatrically built on the hills and slopes around the shore it will inspire awe to the visitor on day and night...

In Agia Pelagia visitors will find all the necessary amenities and facilities for relaxing holidays.

Beaches in Agia Pelagia area are the following:

The Central beach.  Sandy, it deepens relatively fast - in the middle of the beach there is a quite long rocky plate which makes a safe and controlled swimming area suitable for small children - and well organized with umbrellas and beach chairs, plus water sports and scuba diving. There are also traditional tavernas, cafeterias, bars and mini markets along the beach.

A small beach on the peninsula of the Capsis Beach Resort. It's a tiny blue-green water sandy beach, mostly suitable for romantic couples.  You can get there by swimming, by pedal boat. or by walking and climbing -very carefully- up and down the hill located in the western side of the central beach.

The Psaromoura beach.  A small pebbly beach with umbrellas, beach chairs and a small refreshment shop. The visitor will have to walk downhill to reach this beautiful beach and in order to find it, it is better to ask a local for directions.

Mononaftis beach, located west of Agia Pelagia.  Both sandy and pebbly with umbrellas, beach chairs, scuba diving, tavernas, mini markets, cafeterias and small hotels. The water deepens fast in this beach too.
